EVERY PUBLICATION COMMUNICATES TWICE
First through its design. Then through its words.
That belief has shaped my work for more than 20 years. I have always been fascinated by typography, composition, pacing and consistency – and the influence they have on how information is experienced. Text is not only something to be read; type leaves an impression of its own.
My approach is grounded in precise, elegant design, with disciplined attention to every detail. I value balanced composition, hierarchy, white space, image placement, colour, paper and finish – the details that help a piece breathe, hold together, and speak with clarity, coherence and quiet assurance.
When handled well, they lift how a publication is read, understood and trusted, without calling attention to themselves.
I established my independent design practice, A Drewitt Design in 2009. Before then, I worked as a senior graphic designer and studio manager in the marketing department at Sotheby’s – an environment in which every object, collection and communication demanded exceptional standards of presentation. That experience trained my eye for detail, deepened my respect for quality, and taught me how powerfully visual material can embody the organisation behind it.
Since then, I have worked independently with clients across the luxury goods, culture, travel, legal, environmental and specialist sectors. I enjoy projects requiring order, balance and judgement as much as visual refinement.

Clients value how I work as much as what I deliver: with clarity, simplicity and confidence – giving each project a sense of calm direction from first discussion to final detail. I am comfortable with evolving briefs, technical detail and supporting established brands where consistency is key.
